Karen Lawitts, DDS
Dr. Lawitts was born and raised in Syracuse,NY. She received her Bachelor of Science and D.D.S degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Lawitts completed a post-doctoral dental residency program at Upstate Medical Center and opened her own practice in 1985. She taught for many years at Upstate Medical Center in the dental division.
Dr. Lawitts focuses her practice on comprehensive, quality dental care while utilizing state of the art instrumentation and techniques. Dr. Lawitts's practice revolves around minimizing any patient discomfort or anxiety. To accomplish this she uses oral medicine for relaxation, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and stereo headphones connected to cable TV. In addition, her ability to anesthetize patients gently is done with the utmost care.
Dr. Lawitts keeps up with the latest techniques by attending numerous continuing ed courses. She is a member of the Fifth District Dental Society, Onondaga Dental Society, American Dental Association, Woman's Dental Association, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the academy of General Dentistry, and a local study club that meets monthly in Syracuse.
Nancy Yeates, DDS
Dr. Nancy Yeates grew up in Buffalo, New York. After graduating from Canisius College in 1979 with a B.A. in Biology she went on to Georgetown University School of Dentistry and graduated with a D.D.S. degree in 1983.
Dr. Yeates moved to Syracuse after graduation and practiced dentistry in the Syracuse area for 15 years before joining Dr. Lawitts's practice in 1998.
Dr. Yeates is a memger of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association and the Onondaga Dental Society. She attends seminars regularly on new developments in dentistry and enhanced cosmetic practices.
